I remember Gearing standing out on the corner with a broom. Larry Roberts has been standing out on different corners every morning and every evening. He's been having some hellacious radio ads too. One thing for sure. He might be an old man but for LR to stand up to Mahoney and his thugs the way he does, he sure must have some guts. Mahoney might be the incumbent and incumbents are hard to beat. But Larry Roberts has a heck of a record that Mahoney cannot even come close to matching. Check out the Roberts web site at Roberts08.com. If Mahoney does absolutley nothing, he'll probably beat Roberts. But I'll bet Mahoney will do something stupid before election day.

Open Records

Representative Tim Mahoney is running an ad on WMBS that says that he supported legislation for a Central Repository for ALL records. His legislation did not pass and in SB 1 the central repository does not apply to the Legislature. SBi is the legislation Mahoney says he ammended and tries to take credit for. The fox is still guarding the henhouse and Mahoney wants you to believe he did something for you. Open records was supposed to be all about access to records, especially legislative records. But the legislators are still protecting themselves. Mahoney wants to give voters the impression that a Central Repository on ALL records exists. It does not. The Office of Open Records doesn�t apply to legislative records. Past records are not covered either. So it just goes to show, Mahney has done absolutly nothing but give us a lot of talk.

Thank you, WoW for your thoughtful insight and caring information. However the facts are not all to light about what has occurred in this case. I am not going to make his possible defense public over the internet. If the public knew the facts like a jury gets to hear, then maybe you'd be a little more knowledgable as to why I am fighting so hard to defend my son. I don't want him to be like the so many men that just accept a plea not to hear about it anymore and get on with their lives. The men that have fought their cases in court win either by getting all the felony charges dropped or found not guilty of all charges. So my research and knowledge base is greater then yours. The reason so many are dropped or found not guilty is because of police breaching procedures and planting evidence in these cases. You are right most police aren't bad or seeking public pats on their back for enforcing laws. I and my son support police more then you know or want to hear. However some police and more then you know are just that manufacturing elements of the laws to get a print in a rag or a clip on t.v. South Connellsville Police have already lied to the newspapers and t.v. news stations about what the facts are in this case. I am not going off what my son says, but what I have knowledge access to which is hard evidence in his case and hours of research. Many police plant evidence that is why so many convictions in court which the newspapers don't publish are overturned. As far as a the profession of lawyers they just try to keep the laws honest, and not a public modern lynching. I know I am fighting an uphill battle, but if you knew my son he'd do the same for his family or friends. I hope you never need a lawyer, because you will see they are a very handy profession. So in short if police torture a man which is illegal then what else have they done illegally? Thank You, for your concern WoW.

It's good to see South Connellsville have their own comment page. I rember the good old days living in South Connellsville. Swimming at turtle rock camping at the caves. Hanging out at the pool hall with Chuck Helms, Skinny John, Cliffy, Twigs, pig head, the list go's on. Great memories. I make it back once in awhile. Love that place.

John Poke Jaynes, a retired constable, shot and killed his wife Dec 15, 1946 at about 11 am in the morning. She died about 7 pm that night. He was tried and acquitted in June of 1946. He married Mona Rheba, who had been married to his brother Wade, after Wade died. He was 60 and she was 28. She had 2 children Wade Lewis and Pearl.

Marlene, It would be helpful if we knew your father's birthdate if you know it. Was he 30 years old in 1945? What year were you born? Were you born in Connellsville Hospital.

Yep, there are people there still throughout the summer. I doubt its as popular as it once was though, but a few die hards remain. A few summers ago some out area teenager(s) drowned at Turtle rock, and made the Pittsburgh news. A good many people have drowned there over the years, the rivers calm at the surface hides a mean current below.

i am 18 me and all my buddies go down still there are still many older people in there sixtys or so who go down also its still the place to be

I remember one of the Stoner boys shooting Bob Rahl many years ago, must have been in the early to mid 1970's. They lived at the time out towards the "end of the line" on Pittsburgh Street. I went to school with his daughter Robin. A sweet family that tragedy touched.

Oh My Goodness what you can read on the internet before work I have a bit of time. Has this BOY we speak of been to trial yet, and now with this call for his blood by WHOCARES?? who must be a police officer or a lawyer on the case to know so much of this young man's evidence if it is at all true or some drunken moron who is bloodlust for something he does. Are they still doing those internet sex stings. The reason I ask, is because, I have not read anything in the paper latly on that. It use to be in the paper everyday. Does the city of connellsville conduct those stings? And who does the sting? I would like to find out so i can see if there is anyway I can help to keep thoses perv off the streets
