If that were the case, that Mayor Fike has no control over Sprouts NOT stepping down from his elected City Council post after his confession to his FEDERAL CRIME, then all Mayor Fike has to do is come out with this problem in the press, which he has not done.(Is he is protecting Sprouts for some reason? ). I don't care who thinks Sprouts is a "nice" guy. 'Nice' is different than 'Good'. Look, the guy is NOT a good and honorable man no matter who "likes" him. In fact, I guestion all the the people ( ED FIKE ) who think he's a nice guy!!! Is this crooks sticking together? Remember when he said the city was broke because the previous admin had spent most or all of a certain pool of funds?
After hearing about the scam he helped pull off, I thought he may not have been telling the truth about all that money being spent and no records to show where it went.
Also, really odd how the Herald Standard reported that Fike told them about a person named 'Bob', whose last name Fike didn't know, even though NUMEROUS people had mentioned this 'Bob' to him.
I can understand Fike not asking the last name of 'Bob', if 'Bob' was only mentioned once or twice, by one or two people, but NUMEROUS people mentioned 'Bob' so it's really a stretch of the imagination to think that Ed Fike wasn't told the last name of 'Bob'.

i apologize if indeed your street is being missed weekly. please let me know which street this is and i will address this situation immediately. our problem is not enough drivers and the trucks are constantely breaking down. i have two trucks out of service presently. there are also 3 employees off on comp, but these are still not adequate excuses for your trash not being picked up. feel free to leave me a message at city hall if the sanitation workers miss your street.

Just a quick question,,,is any other street being missed for garbage collections? Without stretching the truth,,,our street has been "missed" for days and at one point, even an entire week! Come on,,,it is begining to warm up out there,,,lets not encourage bugs and rodents, not to mention that cats tear out the trash. I call each and ever week to report that our street has once again been missed. This time when I tried to call and leave that message,,,it never even went to it! Seems that someone turned the machine off! Wow! I did call other offices and I was told that the workers that do our trash collections have started to "walk off" the job. I was informed by bill services that the Mayor and even Mahoney have been out on the trucks to try to clean things up! Kudos to them both! I cant really say that I really get into the politics thing,,,but I am impressed. I am also very upset that our sanitation dept is allowed to "miss" our street each and every week. That stinks!!!! LOL

Meanwhile, CURRENT CITY HOME OWNERS in need of services provided by the Fayette COUNTY Redevelopment Authority are in-eligible BECAUSE the Uniontown Redevelopment Authority REFUSES to CEASE operations.

The city should cite Fayette HUD for littering - it's horrible, really. Can't even drive through that alley without risking running over something that could flatten your tires, not to mention the fact little kids who live at that project play near the piles of garbage put out in that parking lot every week.

Don't know about missed - seems they do pick it up on the right day here - the problem here is that people put garbage bags out days before the scheduled pick-up day and they don't put it in containers!
Birds, cats and rats tear holes in the garbage bags, strong winds blow the trash all over the streets where it gets snagged in higher brush or comes to a final resting place along neighboring fence lines.
Horribly disgusting to see grown people piling their rubbish outside to blow away with every wind.
Litter everywhere.
Beer cans, plastic soda bottles, chip bags, fast food bags, napkins, from drive-by trashers.
Everytime I drive down an alley past one of the projects in Uniontown on what must be their garbage pick-up day, I see a huge pile of garbage bags, with holes in them and trash lieing all around, right in the middle of their parking lot!
Why would they pile garbage in their parking lot, of all places. Cars park there , kids ride bicycles there,
I think that project is owned by HUD - run by the Fayette bunch. It's one of their newer ones. What a disgrace - the least they could do is give the people a dumpster with a lid that shuts.
All that garbage is a health hazard - attracts rats, probably oppossums, too.
Fayette HUD should be forced to clean the mess up and make sure the residents have a dumpster to put all that refuse in.
You gotta watch driving through that alley because there is so much rubbish in one part of that parking lot every week, it gets strewn out in the alley by the wind and animals who rip into the bags for thrown-out food.
Watch for a flat tire after driving through there ...
Or, just drive another way - it looks awful down there.
