Gary has a history of coming in third. Maybe this time he will at least come in second. Hopefully he has enough campaign experience that will help make him a winner. As far as gaurantees go. NO one can garauntee anythng. But everyone wants to go with a winner. That's politics. Unfortunately, I would not want to go with a winner if it's going to be Mahoney again. But I do not want to spend my time and energy on Gary's campaign if he does not show any signs of being a winner. Larry Roberts hit Mahoney hard and did a lot of ground work for Gary. But if Gary cannot figure out how to capitalize on that, then I don't know what he expects to do to overcome the incumbent. But I'll be watching. In the meantime do not wast your time on me. I'll be voting for Gary. So you'd better start looking for votes elsewhere. By the way, Larry Roberts would be a good source of support and backing if you can get it.

What does that mean...whether or not Gary is going to be a viable canidate? What do you want gaurantees ? So what do you do...only vote for who think will win? Or, those who give you a good bribe or an intimidating threat? Gary will not take a bribe...he can not be bought! Gary will not bully or threaten you to vote for him...he will instead appeal to your intellect and your common sense. So does that make him viable to you???!!!! Unique IP Code: 392284245926f43

I think it would be a good idea if you or Gary would check the facts posted on Roberts08.com. There might be some good information there tht you can use.

Say What?
What is a this post about? Who's sloth and sloth's cuz and sloth-ites? Kula is a bum who is out for herself only. She has done nothing in 2 years and will do nothing until she retires with an $80,000 pension paid for by you. Get real she has been the definition of a sloth since she got hired by the county 20 or 30 years ago wasting our taxes on her so called salary.

Because she doesn't look like "Sloth" doesn't mean she can't and won't get the job done. She's honest and compassionate. SELF-SERVING is NOT her M.O. it's too bad you "Sloth-Ites" owe your cuz so much. "Sloth love chunck"?....

First of all, what is wrong with KOZ. It was voted on by the people that have been elected, and it has only been approved for threee years. Gary is working very hard at trying to bring business into Uniontown. However, Gary has to compete with Fay-Penn in order to secure that business. Fay Penn has constantly chosen to work against Gary as opposed to work with him. Gary doesn't see the development of the community as a competition, he sees it as an opportunity to bring the community together. Additionally, Gary himself doesn't have KOZ, it is Fayette Holding LTD that has KOZ, and Gary does pay property taxes. I will be happy to provide you with that information. Check back here in a couple of days and I will have those answers for you. Speaking of property tax, "In the Know", I am sure you are tired of paying property tax, as all of us in Pennsylvania are. If you want someone who will work tirelessly for the elimination of property tax, Gary is your man. If you want a man who has promised the world and delivered nothing, Tim Mahoney is your man. The time is now for TRUE Honest Leadership in our community. It's time for Gary Gearing.

This is the truth. If you are looking for true honest leadership, look no further than Gary Gearing. This is a man who took two kids, not of his own and raised them as his own. In addition, he has two great kids of his own. Growing up, the only steps in our family went upstairs. You have a man who has done nothing but try to make our community better over time and has never represented himself as anything other than which he is. Gary is not a man that is one person for the public and another in private. You get what you see. Unlike Tim Mahoney, who has settled for a sham open records law and in his own words has said that it is good and is ready to move on, Gary will fight for accountability and transparency in our government. Unlike Tim Mahoney who said he would not support Bill DeWeese, will not back out of his promises. Gary is running for you! His only agenda is to listen to the people of the 51st District. He will fight for the elimination of property tax. Where has that been on Mr. Mahoney's agenda? He will fight to bring jobs to our area, thus increasing the tax base, allowing more services and lower taxes. He will not lie to you. He will have his records published and updated on his website. Gary is not out to put "his guys" in office and control the government of Fayette County. For too long, Fred Lebder has told the people of our county how to vote and who to vote for. Where has that ever gotten the county? I ask that you look deep and think who will represent the people of Fayette County and the 51st District better in Harrisburg. Don't just follow the Fayette County machine which for the last 50+ years has done little to change our fortunes in the community. Place someone in office that will not have to answer to the "old boys" of Fayette County. If you are ready for real change, not just another Fred Lebder whipping boy in office, its time to vote for Gary Gearing. If you want to volunteer, call me Dave Wenger at 724-322-6138 or call Gary direct at 724-438-4500. Here is my email: dewenger@mail.widener.edu Here is Gary's: fayettebuilding@hotmail.com Here is the address of Gary's office 50 W Main St Uniontown, Pa 15401 Contact us at anytime, tell your friends. If you are talking to people while you are out and about, give them our information, we will be happy to talk to you. Gear Up and vote for TRUE Honest Leadership in November. Thank you, Dave Wenger

I remember Gearing standing out on the corner with a broom. Larry Roberts has been standing out on different corners every morning and every evening. He's been having some hellacious radio ads too. One thing for sure. He might be an old man but for LR to stand up to Mahoney and his thugs the way he does, he sure must have some guts. Mahoney might be the incumbent and incumbents are hard to beat. But Larry Roberts has a heck of a record that Mahoney cannot even come close to matching. Check out the Roberts web site at Roberts08.com. If Mahoney does absolutley nothing, he'll probably beat Roberts. But I'll bet Mahoney will do something stupid before election day.
Thu, Apr 17, 2008 - 1:46 PM
Just the Facts
Actually, Gearing used to stand down at 5 corners during the election. Roberts will win this election. Why? Because the older voters never trusted Mahoney. They remember how Tim got his money back in the 80s and early 90s. The older people only voted for Mahoney because they will not vote for Republicans. Mark these words. Roberts WILL beat Mahoney.

I hope Roberts can pull it off. The Fikes running the city and Mahoney running the district can only spell corruption. Ed is the one person that is really pulling for Timmy. I wonder!!!! There is no way Ed Fike took on the job as mayor for 3000.00 a year and is willing to give that up. There is no one that works for nothing, especially him. He is not that generous!

Did you hear Larry Roberts on the talk show? Wow! What a powerful message. He's got to have a lot of guts to do what he did. He really said it like it is. He talked all about the lies Mahoney told and he talked about Mahoney's broken promises. Because of Larry's comments, the Laurel Highlands School Board deccided to not vote on Mahoney's library proposal. I saw Larry out in traffic waving at cars too. I've never seen any other politician do that. So I guess he's not afraid to make himself available and meet with the voters. I don't think Roberts can beat Mahoney, but he sure is giving him a race.

The "Nanny"
Folks as I am sitting here reading all your comments,,,I am very disturbed that any one on this site has anything to do with our city's business. You all act as though you're in elementary school! Shame on you! Use this site to discuss what needs taken care of and share ideas. Name calling and vague threats of violence and forced silence are best left to the "bullys" on the playground! Dont become angry over my response, use it to check yourself. Take a moment to do some self-reflecting. Become better than the person that you may have been only moments before! I believe that everyone on here has an idea how to change things for the better. Use your "adult" voice and set an example for the other users. Please!

Ron Nehls dead at 70. What a shame. It just goes to show how short life is. Ron was a good man and I feel bad for his family. He will be missed by a lot of us who knew him and worked with him.

Agreed . . .
. . . the HS is biased - for Timmy. Just a bunch of BS from them in support of Timmy. Mr. Gearing is the true professional as anyone who compares real estate owned or previously owned by Timmy (low-income rentals in need of repair and a beer joint) and the prime real estate owned by Mr. Gearing which he renovated into the most attractive high rise apartment rentals in Uniontown - in fact, there's none better in the entire county. Timmy collects tax dollars from his HUD tenants but the HS has never drawn attention to that . . .

Tim's machine is big and old and has a lot of people who will vote how the old boys network tells them. It's unfortunate, but it is the state that the county is in. In order to bring true change to our area, all of those tired of the old machine need to work together and unite and get their friends and family involved to say they are tired of the way things are.
We need to get out into the community and educate the people of the district of the happenings in our district and how our community is being held down by backroom dealings and self interest. The people in power are trying to hang on to that power, and will lie cheat and steal to keep it.
I look for anyone sick of politics as usual, sick of being lied to by your elected officials, sick of ineptitude with our leaders to take a stand and help Gary get elected to office.
Thanks,
Dave Wenger
