concerned
I am concerned because people think its ok to put 40 plastic election signs in a row! plastic does not break down overtime and everybody's too lazy to pick them back up . 3 days after election they are an eye sore to our beautiful sw pa landscape. You should all be ashamed!

Hello, I have made a CURE for PKD my finish line! Will you join me? Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting 600,000 Americans and 12.5 million people worldwide. I am trying to change that. I have put together a team to participate in the annual Walk for PKD.. I would love for you to join my fundraising team and we will work together to raise $500 to ensure the PKD Foundation can continue to chart the path to a cure. Join me.... then ask your friends, family members and co-workers to donate to our cause! We will have a great time and make a real difference for those with PKD! Thank you for your consideration! please go to fb and add yourself to my page thatg way I know your coming. WONDER
i know people can do what they can but our children do not deserve all this they just don't people didn't know what they were doing five year's ago they needed money and plenty of it i don't in any way blame them we should of been alert and not sleeping on the job and been watching out for our children because no one was. as i go each day my grandchildren remind me i wasn't watching , what can i do now is nothing cause the damage has all ready been done so where do we go from here is love them and never remind them what i left happen . if only i could go back and un do what i could of done . i will let them know some day when they get of age when they can handle it and maybe they will under stand . i still don't under stand every thing my self and lay in bed at night thinking where will our life be going as long as they know i tried to do all i could do for the five of them i will settle for that i have to. i'am going to write a book of what happen here and hope people will under stand don't be afraid to open your mouth when it come's to doing what is best for your own family , we were attacted from behind and never had the chance to fight bavk on any of this . even my worst enemy i had to tell what had taken place here in this place we all call home it wasn't easy but i did because it was the right thing to do . i was being teated at the time and i know that a 70year old neighbor that came to me and ask the question and i had a hard time telling her as the tear's began to run down my face she said to me we will have to deal with this in our love for our children and grandchildren she ask me have you tould them i said no she said our you i said maybe some day she said will if we don't tell them and let life for them not knowing at all what our county had done .and not only our county this is a poor county and they chose us know we the people have to chose to, will we stay here and see our county with pipe's from one end to another and compressor's station every where and well's in every yard do we really want this for our family's i guess what will hurt most of all is leaving what i built for my family and me and it was my home and my grandmother's home before me i was left to take care of what she left me but i didn't if only i would of seen it comeing. i take life each day now as if it will be my last and when you look around tomorrow take the time and sit out side and look around of what you had i do each day now and it is what get's me through each wakeing hour . iwill hate to leave this place i called home for 45year's i will take with me the picture's i have to remind me of here fayette county pa.

people are helping
THere are people and organizations involved in the environmental impacts of the drilling in westmor, fayette and other counties. so to say certain people are all alone is not right. there is only so much groups can do. they do not have the power to stop drilling. in other counties (not fayette) the public shows up in droves to speak their minds and some are listening. for private landowners affected they may have to seek legal advise if their helath is affected and if they havent done that yet why havent they

reader
First the HS said they improved their paper, rates increased and now they will be charging OnLine readers if one reads more than 10 stories a month and admittedly the Herald standard says no other Calkin paper charges. More importantly is the quoated statement that readers will be asked to register because " registering will allow a direct relationship with our readers" Really? Who wants or needs a direct relationship with the Herald Standard or for that matter any newspaper? We just want to read the news. The Herald Standard says " not only will you be able to comment on stories, create a dashboard but it WILL ALLOW US TO IDENTIFY CONTENT OF INTEREST". Well first off readers already can comment so now they are going to charge, and really who cares about a Dashboard that is just a computer icon, but how about this statement that it WILL ALLOW US TO IDENTIFY CONTENT OF INTEREST". So now the Herald Standard wants to identify Who is reading What. An interesting take on all this is on the Blog Fayette Patch Hunky too, take a look

truth no lies
to the post Dont Tell A Lie it is true that Marigrace Butela is a Dunbar Township Tax Collector. It is true that she voiced opposition to commissioners hardy zimmerlink for their vote to save over $200,000 to us the taxpayers to change how tax collectors got paid. It is true that it cost fayette co more than $400,000 and with zimmerlink hardy vote they reduced it to $200,000. Tax collectors dont have to run for office if they dont like the pay. It is true that Butela and other tax collectors privately met with vicites and zapotosky asking them to increase their pay back and it is true that vicites and zapotosky voted to do just that. If Butela wants to help others that is her business but she should not get paid to do that cause her job as a tax collector is to lick stamps and envelopes. Butela ran for state legislator and lost.

truth
So exactly what has the Fayette County Dunbar Tax Collector Marigrace Butela done for the people of Fayette County ? She got herself a RAISE in pay. For years she and the other elected tax collectors were paid on a percentage of the collected amount. It didnt matter that all she did was lick and stamp envelopes and wait for TAXPAYERS to mail her their checks yet SHE got paid on what was mailed to her. Then commissioners Hardy and Zimmerlink voted to change the manner of payment to the taxcollectors and instead they were paid on a per piece mail which was MORE FAIR to US the taxpayers and which was how OTHER counties paid their taxcollectors. But Marigrace Butela was NOT satisfied so she she waited until there were 2 commissioners she could HANDLE and she got VICITES and ZAPOTOSKY to rescind the Hardy Zimmerlink vote and Vicites Zapotosky TEAMED UP and INCREASED the tax collectors pay ON THE BACKS OF THE TAX PAYERS OF FAYETTE COUNTY.

taxcollector creates problem
Marigrace Butela is an elected official (tax collector) of Dunbar Township. She always has a cause because her day job as a tax collector does not keep her busy ennough but then again why are there tax collectors to begin with! Anyway, Butela causes include rallying her fellow taxcollectors to get pay raises which they got thanks to fayette co commissioners vicites and zapotosky. Then Butela tried to win a legislative seat & lost badly. Then Butela went after Sen Kasunic and others over KOZ but dropped it. Now she is an activist against marcellus shale drilling. In her spare time (when she is not getting paid to collect taxes) she drives older people around to gas meetings. Butela's latest was attending a DEP mtg at PennState where she took in a micrphone and had 2 others hold a flag. They all stood in the shadows in the rear of the auditorium. They are now accusing the Penn state guard and others of not allowing them to display the flag. They are not telling the truth and Butela is using our American Flag to hide behind her true agenda which is to stop drilling and to get attention to herself for political reasons. Sad so sad that Butela, an elected official, would stoop this low.

Truth in Politics
I saw or heard nothing disrespectful to anyone, nor did I see anything that could be truthfully described as disrespectful to the our countries flag. I do believe that other issues are at play here, so lets talk about what the real problem is, if there is a problem.

How very sad that it isn't what you know to win an election it's how much money you spend! So if you don't have a lot of money just stay home because you don't have a chance to win. I just watched this happen in the last Election and it's very, very sad. No wonder our country is in the shape it's in,Hope it changes before it's too late.

Don't forget the local Tea Party event this Sat. at noon in Uniontown, at Marshall Plaza across from Walgreens on Rt. 40, Main St. Your political party doesn't matter at all. It has to do with the fundamentals.
This event will focus on the fact that the nation has strayed away from the Constitution and the intentions of the Founding Fathers and the fact that the federal government is now the largest employer in the nation. This is not the way it's supposed to be, the Tea Party supports a smaller government. The federal government was never supposed to be stronger than the state's govenrment. When government gets too big, it takes away your liberties. The event is open to everyone and will feature live patriotic music followed by several speakers.

OMG!!!
The Trib has reported:
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsb urghtrib/news/cityregion/s_731584.html Democratic Sen. Richard Kasunic of Dunbar pays his fiance, Janet E. Michael of Dunbar, $62,992 to handle constituent relations in his district office. Michael, who could not be reached, began working for Kasunic in 1994, Senate records show. Kasunic could not be reached. I guess Richie Rich Kasunic isn't as clean cut as everyone thinks. He's a pig just like the other local politicians! I guess you can buy love with the tax payers money.
